As part of the Improve Your Serve Women’s event, Bathurst Presbyterian Women’s Ministry Team is running a seminar on Living in a world seduced by lust. At this seminar we will talk about addressing lust and pornography in our lives as Christian women, and supporting and serving each other in light of the lust-saturated world in which we live. The seminar will be facilitated by Jenni Greig, and the main presentation will be a recorded interview with Marshall Ballantyne-Jones (Digihelp and Resist Ministries).
The seminar is open to women aged 16 and older. In accordance with our Safe Ministry commitment, we need any young woman aged 16 or 17 to have permission from a parent/guardian to attend.
The following points are intended to help you consider whether this is appropriate for your daughter/s:
- There will be some explicit content, including open references to body parts and sexual activity that some people may consider taboo. There will be a live Q&A in which a variety of words and concepts may be raised by attendees. We will ask everyone to be sensitive in their word choices but please be aware that words and concepts you may not be accustomed to talking about in church contexts may arise.
- To devote focused time to the issue of lust and pornography we will not be covering topics such as gender identity and same-sex attraction in this workshop.
- No participants will be asked to share their personal experiences or struggles during the seminar. A list of women from BPC will be made available who have volunteered to have safe conversations with anyone wanting to follow-up following on from the seminar.
If you have questions or need more information, please contact Clare Merkel on 0419 127 630 of Jenni Greig on 0466 914 875.
When: Saturday 16th August 2025 (3-5pm) or Monday 18th August (7.30-9.30pm)
The seminar will be held twice, with similar content at both. However, the live Q&A session at each session may differ.
